Traction, the book that changed my life and why I’m excited to join the EOS Worldwide team as a Professional EOS Implementer to pay it forward.
In 2015, I was in a bad place professionally and personally. My co-founder and I had built a rocket ship that was out of control, and we didn’t just hit the ceiling—we face-planted into it. I was wearing eight hats, working sixty-hour weeks, and living in chaos. A good friend and Rice alum, Lorie Clements, invited me to lunch at Fornos of Italy and spoke of this magical system called EOS and gave me the book Traction. I was a little seduced by the lasagna. Reluctantly, I scheduled a “90-minute meeting” with my leadership team, and we were game to give it a shot. We installed EOS with her coaching over the next 18 months, and she was right. The system creates alignment around vision, accountability to gain traction, and builds a healthy environment for leadership and the team. It was the antidote to the chaotic environment that I was personally responsible for building. It set us up to survive the pandemic and be in a growth posture going into a successful exit in 2023.
Since then, I have installed EOS into five different businesses over the last eight years, in both Visionary and Integrator roles, and have seen it work its magic each time because the principles are simple and proven by best practices captured over decades of leadership and management trials and tribulations. Inadvertently, I have been an evangelist for the system for one simple reason: it just works.
My north star has always been centered around helping others. It is why I have not just survived but enjoyed a twenty-two-year career of consulting in one capacity or another. I could not be more excited to be joining the EOS Worldwide Impllementer team as an EOS Implementer to coach and train businesses on the system with all my attention and focus.
