Scorecard Recap

The Tool We Covered

Most founders can tell you how the business feels this week. Very few can tell you how it is actually doing, in numbers, on one page, at a glance. That gap is where surprises live, and surprises in business are rarely the good kind. The Scorecard is the EOS® habit of tracking a handful of weekly numbers that tell you the truth about the company before the financials do, and in July, Professional EOS Implementer® Charlie Rhea walked our room through what separates a Scorecard that drives action from one that just gets read aloud and ignored.

How It Went

The room was full and the coffee went fast. Charlie Rhea taught the Scorecard, one of the most practical tools in the entire toolbox, and what made it land is that he made it real: not a lecture about metrics, but a working session on what a handful of honest weekly numbers actually tells you about your company before the financials get around to saying it. The participation was outstanding. When we moved into IDS, the group got into some genuinely juicy issues, the kind you only put on the table in a room you trust, and that is exactly what this group is for.

We also had a little fun with a survey on who will win the World Cup. For the record, I said Argentina. The room will hold me to it.

A generous note on Charlie: beyond the teaching segment, he is hosting a leadership workshop in College Station this September, and several members were already asking him about it before the chairs were pushed in. That is the kind of implementer this community attracts.

Closing

Next month we are taking on Clarity Breaks, the highest-leverage hour a founder is not currently taking. The room is already filling.
