Clarity Break
Every founder I know can tell me what they did last week, hour by hour. Almost none can tell me the last time they spent sixty uninterrupted minutes thinking about the business instead of working in it. The business gets your hands all week. Your mind never gets a quiet hour.
This Month’s Tool
The Clarity Break™ is the EOS® answer to a problem most leaders won’t admit they have: the higher you climb, the less time you spend actually thinking. Your calendar fills with everyone else’s issues, your best ideas get interrupted before they finish forming, and the strategic questions that only you can answer keep losing to whatever is on fire today. I wrote about my own version of this in a post called Maverick, Reengage, because I learned it the hard way while running a company at full throttle with an empty tank. A Clarity Break is deliberately scheduled time away from the office, the phone, and the team, with nothing but a blank pad and the big questions. It sounds almost too simple to matter. The leaders who actually do it will tell you it is the highest-leverage hour of their week. What that hour should look like, and how to protect it when everything else is screaming, is what we will dig into in the room.
The Rest of the Morning
The teaching segment is only the opening act. After check-in and the tool, we move to the heart of every ENRG meeting: structured peer issue solving, where members put real problems on the table and the room works them to the root. We close by scoring the meeting out loud, one to ten, because we hold ourselves to the same standard we would hold your leadership team to. Come at 8:20 if you can. The conversations before and after are where a lot of the good stuff happens.
